Send to Friend and Family
This is a monthly email straight to your inbox which gives you a brief look at what we've been up to over the last month and what's coming up. Thanks for taking the time to read this. It’s our second newsletter and we’re already starting to build up a good number of people who have signed up to receive it. Please help us promote this newsletter by giving it a share and forwarding to family and friends.
Things you can do online...
When we have a bank holiday your collection days may change. We regularly update our Revised Bank Holiday Collection Days page on our website so please make sure you check this page so that you always know when your bins will be collected.
We’ve made improvements to our current website by starting to trial live chat during office hours. It means instead of having to come in to see us or call us, if you really need to speak to someone you can ask us a question online and speak directly to a customer service agent.
**Young People Special**

Gravesham Youth Council
Are you a young person and want to have a genuine impact on your community? The Gravesham Youth Council gives you the chance to have your voice heard. Meeting on the last Friday of every month between 4pm and 6pm at the Gravesham Civic Centre, you can join together with other young people and debate real issues and discuss real solutions; matters of inclusion, holding officials to account, discussing council policies that involve young people, and so much more!

The next meetings are on Friday 28 August and Friday 25 September. If this sounds like something you’d like to be involved in? Then simply email gyc@gravesham.gov.uk

Youth Camp 2015
Gravesend is twinned with Neumunster, a town of similar size and population, located in the north of Germany, near Hamburg. Gravesham has been twinned with Neumunster since 1980 and the town this year is celebrating 888 years since its formation.

To celebrate this important date, Neumunster have invited the members of Gravesham Youth Council, aged between 13 and 17, to the town to take part in a week-long celebration between 17 and 23 August.

Gifted Young Gravesham (GYG)
GYG is back. It’s a variety talent show aimed at young people, by young people, for everyone. The event will be held at Woodville Halls on Friday 27 November.
The GYG Committee, responsible for organising the event is made up of young people across the borough supported by workers from the Gr@nd, Kent County Council and ourselves here at Gravesham council.

Proceeds from ticket sales to the event will help fund an Active Listening Counsellor for young people at the Gr@nd. Acts have been chosen to perform from the secondary schools across the borough.
Calling all Apprentices!
We have a number of exiting apprenticeship opportunities for enthusiastic young people aged 16-24 looking to get into work. The roles we currently have will be a great platform for you to get some great training and experience with us.

If this sounds interesting to you or you know someone who would be interested please take a look at our website
www.gravesham.gov.uk/apprenticeship or pass the details on. Closing dates vary so make sure you check those before applying.
Love Kent, Hate Litter Campaign
Until 31 August we're working with the Kent Resource Partnership to promote an anti-littering campaign. You'll be able to catch full updates on our Twitter page - @graveshambc - and find out all the things we're doing in the borough to combat littering. #LoveKent
