Welcome to the August edition of our e-Newsletter!
Family Worker Training + Development Programme is as busy as ever. We are planning our Annual General Meeting, organising workshops as per usual and getting prepared for the Trivia Night on Friday 31/7! The Trivia night is a fundraiser for the SNAICC Conference trip.

Our Aboriginal Project Worker, Jackie Stewart is preparing to present at the SNAICC Conference in Perth, which will run from Sept 15-17. She will be talking about the workshop, "Victor's Story" and about the "Aboriginal Cultural Support Program". Jackie will be travelling to the SNAICC Conference with a group of women from the Aboriginal Cultural Support Program. More information about SNAICC and it's conference can be accessed here.
Social Media For Community Services: A Beginner's Guide

 ON AUG 11th. Not your usual workshop! Back by popular demand- this practice based workshop will further develop your skills in case notes and increase your capacity to capture relevant content. Children with challenging behaviour: Talking with families
On Sept 7th.In this workshop you will focus on how to talk with families of children with challenging behaviours (diagnosed and undiagnosed) and/or additional needs. Cool in A Crisis: Responding to Young People in Crisis Situations
On Oct 8th: Children and Young People who have suffered trauma and experienced pain or loss will often seek to hurt others or themselves. This workshop is designed to provide workers with the ability and practical skills to deal with young people who exhibit ‘acute physical behaviour’ in a way which better ensures safety and a therapeutic outcome. Autism Spectrum Disorder: For aboriginal & nON-aBORIGINAL workers
On Oct 21st: This one and a half day  workshop will cover "What is ASD', you will acquire some strategies to support children on or suspected to be on the spectrum and get an insight into behaviour. Building Early Literacy in Bi-Lingual Families
On Oct 8th. Developing early literacy in English is an important part of getting ready for school. It can be challenging if your family is not proficient in English.
