What We Do

Well-trained farmers are key to building sustainable local food systems, and New Entry prepares new and beginning farmers for success through comprehensive training and technical assistance in all aspects of farm production and management.

Our mission is to assist multi-cultural individuals with agricultural backgrounds to successfully enter farming in Massachusetts. The broader goals of New Entry are to support the vitality and sustainability of the region's agriculture, to build long term economic self-reliance and food security among participants and their communities, and to expand access to high-quality, culturally appropriate and  locally-grown foods.

Thursday's Newsletter- The POD

Click HERE to read your Wednesday's newsletter! Today's article is about New Entry's upcoming Open Farms Tour on Wednesday, August 5th. Come join us in Dracut, MA to meet the New Entry community while touring our Incubator farm sites (where a lotta the magic happens)!

Do you have friends, family or coworkers who haven't signed up for a World PEAS CSA share yet?
Don't let them miss out- they still have time to register for our Fall Share! The World PEAS CSA Fall share runs for the tail end of our program in September & October, providing 8 weeks of local fruits and vegetables to households that couldn't commit to a full season of produce. This is a great option for Fall semester students or for families that travel during the summer, and it only costs $250! Help our farmers earn critical farm income by encouraging your friends & networks to join the World PEAS CSA for the most productive weeks of the agricultural season. Fall shareholders can register at www.worldpeasfoodhub.org!

FYI: All current shareholders have already paid in full for the full 20 weeks of our season, so none of you need to register for a Fall share unless you would like to receive more produce each week!)

Upcoming Events
There's still time to register for two upcoming fine dining events which will feature New Entry farmers and their delicious local produce!
  • 8th Annual New Entry Open Farms Tour, August 5th @ 4:45 PM, Ogonowski Memorial Fields, 126 Jones Ave., Dracut, MA. Read our newsletter to learn more about this event!
  • The Rolling Ridge Field to Table event benefit the restoration and cultivation of the farm land at Rolling Ridge and to benefit New Entry Sustainable Farming Project's Farmland Matching Service. Your donation of $75 per person includes an all-inclusive dinner buffet and drinks, featuring freshly harvested produce grown locally by New Entry farmers and partner farms and expertly prepared by the culinary team at Rolling Ridge.
  • The Farmers Dinner at LaBelle Winery will incorporate World PEAS produce ingredients into a locally-sourced meal paired with fine wine from LaBelle Winery in Amherst, NH. New Entry farmer Andal Sundaramurthy will also have a chance to share her experiences as beginning sustainable farmer with dinner attendees. A portion of the proceeds will benefit World PEAS food access efforts in the greater Boston area to expand access of healthy and culturally appropriate foods in underserved areas through production of locally-grown foods.
