Elevated Tasting:  Bordeaux Boot Camp!

Tuesday 8/11, 8/18, 8/25 @ 6:30pm | $300 | 3 Classes

Week 1 (8/11): Right Bank

For our first class on Bordeaux, we'll be exploring the Right Bank of the Gironde estuary. Cabernet Sauvignon, arguably the most famous grape variety worldwide, dominates wines from the Left Bank. Their tannins provide serious structure that make these wines capable of 50+ years of ageing. We'll also go over the infamous 1855 Classification System while tasting through each of the most notable regions, such as Haut-Medoc, Pauillac, and St-Julien.

Week 3 (8/25): Blind Tasting and Sauternes

In our last class, we'll try to distinguish between Right and Left Bank Bordeaux. Blind tasting is a skill that comes with time, but with a little help, we'll go over the basics to train your palate to detect the tells of any wine. Lastly, we'll sample the most famous dessert wine in the world - Sauternes - and discover its many perfect

Charity Wine Tasting with Blue Marble Ice Cream:
 "Taste of Haiti"

Thursday, August 13th  |  6:30 - 8:30pm | $75

Escape the brutal NYC summer heat with a trip to the breezy tropics.  While perhaps better known for its struggles, Haiti actually has a rich culinary heritage.  Thanks to its storied past, its cuisine is a blend of French, Spanish and African traditions dashed with a unique Creole flavor all its own.  Our “Taste of Haiti” evening offers a rare opportunity to experience this delicious heritage while enjoying a selection of reds, whites and bubbles that complement the food's spicy and citrus notes.

Proceeds of “Taste of Haiti” will benefit Blue Marble Dreams, the nonprofit arm of NYC’s beloved Blue Marble Ice Cream.  Together with their partners at Haiti 155, they are building Bèl Rèv - a unique ice cream social enterprise in Port au Prince, Haiti that will create sustainable jobs for women, support local farmers and enliven the spirit and economy of its community.  Learn more about this innovative venture here.
