Volunteering at WIA
New Policy for the 2015-2016 school year
At Wesley International Academy, we value and appreciate your interest in volunteering at the school! Volunteers are our partners and a key component to the success of any school. We appreciate our wonderful parents, grandparents, community members and others who offer their time and energy to our teachers, staff, students or through WIA PTSA. We ask that all of our families volunteer and be an active part of the WIA community.
On Monday, August 3, ALL parents/guardians/volunteers will need to complete the Volunteer Release form for the Level 2 screening so that we can comply with the APS requirements of all school volunteers. See more about this policy below. This policy applies to anyone coming into the school whether they are visiting a classroom or having lunch with a child. Completing this form by Monday, August 3, will avoid delays in opportunities to visit a classroom, volunteer or having lunch at the school.
We will have a table set up Wesley Welcome Back Day on Monday, August 3 to answer questions, accept completed forms, have forms available for all parents/guardians to complete and to make copies of government issued IDs.
Complete and print the APS Volunteer Release Form in advance and bring it with you to speed up the process on Monday.

Volunteer opportunities will be made available starting the week of August 17, 2015, to allow our administrative staff time to process the bulk of the Volunteer Release forms and to give our teachers the opportunity to bond with their class and develop their specific volunteer needs.
*New this year* We will implement a full school-wide volunteer sign up system through Volunteer Spot for teachers and staff to use. Links and notices will be broadcast by teachers and staff when opportunities are available.
