Hard Working Blues Rock Act Heads National with New Release

Hard-working Australian Blues Rock act Transvaal Diamond Syndicate have strapped on the tool belt yet again with a pending three months on the road and double EP release.

No stranger to the roads of Australia, the lads have some serious touring planned for the back half of the year with scheduled shows throughout NSW, QLD, VIC, WA and NT on the back of a double EP drop.  First cab off the rank is the release of a new single and filmclip entitled 'The River' (to be released mid August).

Spending last month in the studio, TDS headed down to Sydney to record the first of two EP's with Daniel Antix (Gay Paris) at Def Wolf Studios, also teaming up with fellow musician pals Lachy Doley (Powderfinger) on keys, Alyce Schulte (Frank Sultana and the Sinister Kids) on backup vox and Zed Charles (The Royal Artilery) on lead guitar. They will then back up with Phil Graham (Head of Music QUT) at Gasworks Studio in Brisbane for the Bluesy EP later this year.  The project is a different one for the act this time around and will see them separately acknowledge the different main genre influences within the band.

The energetic trio raised over $10,000 in 40 days to help cover the expenses of recording with a crowdfunding campaign through Indiegogo recently, reaching 106% of their target.  As part of the campaign the band landed in some proverbial hot water recently with an offer of moustache rides to the populous.  Check out the hilarity HERE.

Transvaal Diamond Syndicate have chalked up some 250,000kms and done close to 1000 all-original gigs over the last 6 years as they earn their place as one of the hardest working bands in the country with a solid contribution to the Australian Blues Rock scene.  In that time the band has taken out numerous awards (MusicOz Top 5, IMA, QMusic Highly Commended, QLD Blues Song of the Year), had multiple tracks played on Triple J Radio and have played a bunch of the country's largest festivals including Byron BluesFest, Queenscliff Music Festival, Sydney Blues Fest, Blues on Broadbeach and many more.

This week sees the band continue 'The River' National Tour with a 5 date run through NSW with gigs in Port Macquarie, Newcastle, Sydney and Wollongong.
