How to Ruin a Classic Horror Movie with Common Sense

We here at Shout! Factory obviously love our classic horror movies, but we also like to have a little fun with their silliness sometimes. One of our bloggers decided to show 10 instances where common sense definitely did NOT play a major role in horror film characters' decisions. Can you think of more examples? Of course you can! Check out our list and let us know what we missed in the comments!

More Reasons To Love The Seventh Dwarf
The Decline Of Western Civilization Collection has gotten quite a bit of praise in the press recently. Check out what some people had to say about Penelope Spheeris' three classic documentaries, now in one collection for the first time ever…
We always hear about the pack of little dudes who accompany Snow White, but a new animated film, in theaters 7/31, focuses on one in particular, Bobo, and his adventures with his group. The Seventh Dwarf is a hysterical mash-up that includes many of our favorite fairy tale characters – Sleeping Beauty, Red Riding Hood, Cinderella – and features the voice talents of Peyton List and Norm Macdonald. See it in theaters on July 31, and then own it on August 18. Details at http://seventhdwarfmovie.com

5 Underrated Robin Williams Performances
Shout! News Story 8
What We Do In The Shadows Is Spinal Tap For The Twilight Crowd
Robin Williams is probably best remembered for his performances in Aladdin, Good Will Hunting, Good Morning Vietnam, Mrs. Doubtfire and Dead Poets Society, but he also appeared in a wide variety of films that weren't exactly smash hits. And not only are some of those films quite good, but they also feature some fine work from the late, great Robin Williams. So in honor of a great man's birthday (7/21/51), let's run through a few of those films.
(From our friends at Trunkworthy...) Hysterical, endlessly quotable, and surprisingly human (considering its characters no longer are), this is a comedy that deserves more than cult status. Whatever the hell you’re doing instead of watching What We Do in the Shadows, the funniest and most inexplicably overlooked film of 2014, it’s now time to stop.

The Decline of Western Civilization Collection

“The arrival of The Decline Of Western Civilization Collection as a pristine extras-filled box set from Shout! Factory this week is to budding punks what a new Star Wars movie is to, well, all the other kids: something they never thought they’d get to experience in their lifetimes.” – New York Times

“The first two Decline Of Western Civilization docs are among the greatest rock movies ever made – and until the release of this four-disc boxed set packed with extras, they existed only on VHS…. They’re gritty mementos of an earlier, better generation of rock films.” – Playboy Magazine

“In addition to recording powerhouse bands in their prime, Spheeris also used these films to explore youth culture, the unifying power of music and the varying conceptions of ‘success.’ Her work here is outstanding, and it’s great to have it available again.” – Los Angeles Times

“The Blu-ray transfer of the film looks great, with the colors really standing out, and a lot of the grain of the film removed.” – Icons of Fright
