The Northcote Hysterical Society
presented by David Wadelton
Where: Bundoora Homestead Art Centre
7 - 27 Snake Gully Drive, Bundoora, Vic
When:  7 August - 27 September 2015

Leading contemporary artist David Wadelton presents a selection of paintings and photographs capturing the architecture, people and character of Northcote and it surrounds since 1975. As a play on words, Wadelton began his first blog on the photo-sharing platform Flicker and called it the Northcote Hysterical Society.  Now a thriving Facebook page, Wadelton invites the viewer to engage and to share experiences and memories in relation to his work via social media. Wadelton captures the essence of the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and today, via his visual journey down the High Street and its neighbourhood.

Curated by Cassie May.

Coming up...
We are well into the planning stages for So Far... our first group exhibition to celebrate five years of the Ten Cubed collection. To mark the half-way point of our ten year project, So Far... will feature work by all eight of the core artists of the collection.  The exhibition will run from 2 October until 18 December. And what would a birthday be without a party? Save the date on Saturday 10/10 (see what we did there?) for a Ten Cubed party to remember.

Calling all volunteers
We currently have some casual volunteer positions available at the gallery for people interested in gaining experience with us.

As we re-vamp our website, we need assistance to transcribe video interviews, edit and prepare written content for our new artists and exhibition pages. You will get some first-hand information about the artists and artwork in the collection, and an opportunity to develop your writing skills. This position will start in late-August, and hours are very flexible.

If you are interested in event management, we have a volunteer position for an assistant to help out at functions and gallery events. We have lots of varied events planned over the coming months, so let us know if you would like to lend a hand.

Please contact our Director, Gina Lee, by email to express interest in either of these opportunities.
