Grassroots funding for youth fly fishing development.
Fly Fishing Canada is pleased to announce the establishment of a fund which will be made available on an annual basis to local groups for the introduction to fly fishing, and ongoing mentoring and coaching of young anglers.
The development of the grassroots community of Canadian anglers is essential to the sustainability of our sport, and an excellent opportunity to teach youth a life long skill and appreciation of the outdoors and the importance of conservation.
Perennial sustainability of the fund will be made possible from the proceeds of the annual Cast and Blast held each spring at Kenauk, Montebello Quebec.
The Cast and Blast was first held in 1998 and was a collaboration of the Ruffed Grouse Society of Canada, Ottawa chapter and Fly Fishing Canada.
Over the years, thanks to the efforts made by Tim Bezanson and John Huff, and the collaboration of Kenauk Nature, thousands of dollars have been raised for the support of conservation, in the early days, and recently in support of Canadian International youth teams.
It is Tim and John’s wish that the proceeds from the annual Cast and Blast be handed over to and administered by Fly Fishing Canada in the support of young anglers from across Canada.
Fly Fishing Canada will offer match funding, up to $500.00 to groups who present a comprehensive development initiative for youth in their area. Interested groups are invited to contact Jim Iredale by email: riverkeep@hotmail.com.
Eligibility criteria will be elaborated as the demand evolves.
Individual donors and sponsors are also invited to contribute to this fund.

Quebec Championships 2015
For 2015 the Mark Anderson Tournament will be held in conjunction with the Quebec Provincial Championships. The individual and team winners will hold the title of Quebec Champions. The individual winner will also be awarded the Mark Anderson Memorial Trophy. As usual the top rod (the angler with the highest number of fish) will be awarded the Bernard Dalbec trophy. Le financement pour le développement de la pêche à la mouche chez les jeunes.
Pêche à la mouche Canada est heureux d'annoncer la création d'un fonds qui sera mis à disposition, sur une base annuelle, à des groupes locaux pour l'introduction, le mentorat et l’entraînement des jeunes pêcheurs à la mouche.
Le développement de la communauté de base des pêcheurs canadiens est essentiel à la viabilité de notre sport, et une excellente occasion d'enseigner aux jeunes une compétence qui leur restera tout au long de leur vie et l'appréciation de la nature et de l'importance de la conservation.
La viabilité et pérennité du fonds sera rendue possible grâce au profit de la compétition annuelle ayant lieu chaque printemps à Kenauk, Montebello Québec (Kenauk cast and blast).
Depuis 1998, le “Cast and Blast†subsiste grâce à une collaboration du chapitre d’Ottawa de la Ruffed Grouse Society of Canada et de Pêche à la mouche Canada.
Au fil des ans, grâce aux efforts déployés par Tim Bezanson et JohnHuff, et avec la collaboration de Kenauk Nature, des milliers de dollars ont été amassés pour le soutien de la conservation au tout début, et, récemment, pour appuyer les équipes canadiennes internationales de jeunes.
C'est le souhait de Tim et John que le produit de l'evenement “Cast and Blast†soit remis à et administrés par Fly Fishing Canada pour le soutien des jeunes pêcheurs de partout au Canada.
Pêche à la mouche Canada égalera tout financement jusqu'à concurrence de $ 500,00 à des groupes qui présentent une initiative de développement pour les jeunes dans leur région. Les groupes intéressés sont invités à communiquer avec Jim Iredale par email: riverkeep@hotmail.com.
Les critères d'admissibilité seront élaborés selon l'évolution de la demande.
Les donateurs et les sponsors individuels sont également invités à contribuer à ce fonds.

Championnat du Quebec 2015
En 2015, le tournoi “Mark Anderson Memorial†sera présenté conjointement avec les Championnats québécois de pêche à la mouche. Ce faisant, les individus et les équipes gagnantes détiendront le titre de Champions du Québec. De plus, le trophée commémoratif Mark Anderson sera décerné au vainqueur individuel alors que le trophée Bernard Dalbec sera décerné au pêcheur ayant capturé le plus grand nombre de poissons (top rod)
