Hi <<First Name>>,

Spring has technically arrived, but a kiwi spring can be notoriously iffy... If you are after a wee tipple to see winter off in style then here's a mulled wine crockpot recipe- what could be simpler or more delicious?

WELCOME ABOARD

We have a couple of new faces in the VS team.
  • Carey Blaikie- Carey is here to take on the newly created Service Coordinator role. She comes to us from HydroVac and has considerable experience in the area.
  • Daniel Evans- Daniel is new to Vision and will be training in the IT side of the security industry. With the systems becoming more and more cloud based this support is critical for our tech as well as customers!
  • Dariel Chand- Dariel joins the ranks as a Security Technician.

SERVICE CO-ORDINATOR YOU SAY...

That's right... We now have a dedicated member of the team looking after all our servicing work. Its a big job to centralise this process, but we think Carey is the perfect person for the job!
Our aim is to be highly organised and have the tech's booked in and giving our great clients plenty of advance warning around dates of the service .
Carey will no doubt be in touch with you all over the coming months to organise your service work. It is critical to the health of the your building and security systems!

GEOFF GILFEDDER

With the 2 A's covered- Attitude and Application- you know you can count on the one and only Geoff Gilfedder to get the job done.

Geoff is a Project Manager in the security side of the business.
Here's a couple of interesting facts that you might not know about Geoff...
  • He has two rather interesting hobbies- collecting legal tender from the Empire of Japan with many coins and notes pre-dating the discovery of New Zealand!
  • His other hobby is marathon running! With no less than 16 Marathons completed to date, Geoff will happily throw on his trainers and clock up a lazy 5 km in his lunch break. In fact, he's off to his hometown of Dunedin for his lucky 17th this Sunday... Here's a link to the Dunedin Marathon http://www.dunedinmarathon.co.nz/
  • In typical fashion he broke his arm falling off a playground slide as a nipper, but in a rather more unique twist Geoff was born with only 3 knuckles in his left hand...
  • After spending 2 years in Japan during his 20's Geoff met his wife Akemi. This month is their 21st wedding anniversary, and have 2 children Lucas & Renee.

Vision Systems wins Network Transmission works for the Christchurch Transport Operations Centre

After the earth quakes it was found that the Christchurch Transport Operations Centre needed a more reliable /robust wireless network system for the traffic management network. The products Vision systems installed were the airFiber Ubiquiti full duplex point to point Gigabit transmitters/receivers. These units are built for long range use, in fact this model will allow 1Gb throughput up to 13km. Vision Systems are also able to supply units for data network transmission out to 100+km.

Client feedback below after the installation:

"Hi Paul,

We are very pleased with the quality of the services and workmanship we received from Vision Systems on our Traffic Systems wireless network upgrade. Our last dealings with Vision Systems were shortly after the Earthquake, where they did the CCTV work for the temporary central bus exchange. Their service was exceptional then, and I’m pleased to say that despite the additional stress and workload in post-quake Christchurch, their service and workmanship is still top-notch. This is so reassuring to see in a location that currently has so many problems with substandard workmanship.

From us here at CTOC – Keep Up The Good Work!”

OTAHAHU RECREATIONAL CENTRE

After months of hard graft we've finished our security installation for the Auckland Council at the Otahahu Recreational Centre.
Outstanding work by the techs involved.

HEALTH & SAFETY

At Vision Systems we take Health & Safety seriously.

We have our Auckland technicians trialing a new app that allows them to complete their tool box forms on line. One of the advantages is that we can record photographs of our sites including any areas of concerns and the safety measures taken.
If you see one of our techs around Auckland town please ask them to send you a copy so you can have a look yourself.

LIFTING & HEIGHT EQUIPMENT

As a part of the continuing upgraded OSH regulations, one that all clients need to be aware of is the need to have 2 technicians present when operating a scissor lift. This is a non negotiable safety requirement to ensure that both our staff and the general public are all kept safe and sound.

If you have a service or installation coming up which requires a lifter please be aware that we will need 2 staff present. Alternatively you may have a site safe (heights) registered staff member that can assist, but please be aware that this needs to be discussed with us well in advance.
Please contact Brian Carpenter for a full run down of the Health & Safety culture at Vision Systems.
