Hi all, just a quick announcement about some things I've been cooking up lately.

refried beans

Nicholas Ganz included my Street Surveys, Mappy Facts, and Sidewalk History posters in his “Street Messages” book, which came out a couple months ago. The book looks at street art that incorporates text, and features work by Banksy, Basquiat, Candy Chang and Jenny Holzer, among many other amazing people. GO BUY A COPY NOW.

Getting by in Boston celebrated its first birthday in early June. GBIB is a series of meetings, spin-off groups, and an online forum—and it all focuses on the challenges of getting by as a creative person in our crazy expensive town. Here’s an article I wrote about what went on during the first year.

And in April, I was part of the Massachusetts Pirate Party’s annual conference. I was on a panel with Seth Zeren, and we talked about reinventing the city through DIY and community-led initiatives. Here's the audio.

new project: "behind the black boxes"

NEW PROJECT LAUNCHING SOON. Maybe in August. Maybe in September. Details coming soon. Soon?

SOON!!

how to be an artist and a parent? who knows.

Greg Cook and I put together a discussion series and an online forum around being a parent while trying to keep making your art, or writing your poems, or what-have-you—something that would be hard enough already if we didn’t live in such a crazy expensive place. Anyway, here’s an article Greg wrote about our first discussion event in Malden, and here’s one that I wrote about the second one in Somerville.

Stay tuned and join the conversation on the website, or over on our Facebook forum. And if you're around this coming Saturday, join the playground meetup Paul Hanna is putting together. Together, we’ll figure it all out! Trust me.
