Visiting Grand Lodge in Indianapolis was a networking and learning experience once again as every day was full of new information. One of the areas the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is very concerned about is social media. Public Relations is at the forefront of this new 'electronic era'. I learned that we must be careful as a private organization to protect our members. Confidentiality and the protection of our lodge members is of up most importance. Our Public Relations Chairman and Chaplin, Luke Netto, has taken over the eblast and the website to ensure Tri-City is following Elks Statutes, rules and regulations and protecting our members privacy. Luke works and teaches in the field and is very knowledgeable about Public Relations and electronic media. We are hoping to eventually start a new bulletin for Tri-City, containing all the information for 1-2 months. Including, keeping the members up to date on Elks happenings, Americanism, Veterans, hoop shoot and other lodge events. We will continue to use the eblast for weekly events. A new website will be up and coming in the next few weeks. I am confident we are headed in the right direction to engage our members and provide them with the most information we can.
