Is San Francisco's Chinatown one of America's oldest Chinese community about to be gentrified? As rising rents and the lack of space in the city continue, developers are looking towards Chinatown for offices, entertainment and housing especially as the subway is set to open in 2019. Many traditional Chinese businesses such as the banquet houses have been shuttered and some are being converted to a a tech start up or high end restaurants. Harvard and University of North Carolina seek to delay lawsuits over Asian American admissions which alleges that the schools discriminate against Asian American students by  unfairly limiting  the number admitted.  Read more at the New York Times.

National President Ed Gor and San Francisco Past President Joanna Tom with actress Nancy Kwan at the 150th Anniversary Chinese Railroad Workers celebration. Proceeds of the event will go towards building a memorial Monument in the Sierras for the Chinese Railroad Workers.
