My son's birthday was a couple of weeks ago. As some of you are aware, he is quite severely intolerant to both wheat and dairy. When planning a small gathering for him and a couple of his friends, I of course needed to ensure all food served was safe for him, and still appealing to the other children. I did remember that he has 2 other friends who cannot tolerate wheat, gluten or dairy, and still another who's body cannot tolerate those plus chocolate, soy, grapes and oranges. So what about cake? Traditionally we have used a gluten and dairy free chocolate recipe, but this time, chocolate wasn't an option. So I asked him, banana or carrot cake? He chose carrot cake. So a-googling I went and found the most scrumptious gluten, dairy and refined sugar free carrot and date loaf. I used a cake tin, iced it with a coconut frosting (although, if you can tolerate dairy, a traditional cream-cheese icing would work too). It was devoured by all the children (and adults) and has become a new favourite - I've made it 3 times since! You can find the recipe here. Enjoy!
Belief
When someone believes in us, it awakens something hibernating within us. It makes us a little more aware of the drip-drip of disinterest that has flooded us. We feel the discomfort of it and begin to suspect something better might exist. You can read more about The Power of Friendship (when friendship is a verb) so eloquently written by Dr Kelly Flanagan. His writing is from the heart and is too good not to share.

Reiki Workshops
Reiki in the First Degree is about self-healing, and strengthening the connection with your Higher Self as you open as a channel for the Reiki Energy. At the end of the workshop you have the ability to self-treat, and to treat friends and family. There are only 2 spaces left for the workshop on the weekend of 15th and 16th August. Second Degree Reiki takes you deeper into the connection with your Higher Self, opening the channels further and allows you to be a practitioner. At this level you also learn about distant healing - how the energy of Reiki can transcend both time and space.
My next Second Degree workshop is scheduled for September. I'll let you know when I have finalised the dates.
