Benefits of routine hearing evaluations

Routine hearing evaluations can identify patients at risk for communication breakdowns.  We recommend routine hearing tests every 2 years beginning at age 45, or sooner if there is a family history or medical condition such as diabetes, heart disease, or the patient is taking medications that cause hearing loss.  In older adults, untreated hearing loss has been linked to dementia, depression, and stress related illnesses.

A diagnostic hearing test performed by an audiologist is recommended over a hearing screening.  A diagnostic test will give a complete picture as to type of hearing loss, degree of hearing loss, and whether a medical condition is causing the hearing loss.

Trusted since 1942, Constance Brown Hearing Centers is your local hearing healthcare expert, where personalized service and technology meet.
