Social Bonds & Mental Health


No one can deny that innovation is needed in the mental health sector. Those who work in health, whether for a District Health Board or an NGO, recognise it as a clunky system that too often prioritises processes over people.

The area of mental health suffers particularly poorly as sector as it struggles to come to terms with the reality that mental health is no longer just about ‘health’ but more so all of the factors that contribute to wellbeing - housing and employment being at the top of the list.

New Zealand’s first social bonds scheme aims to improve one of these measures of wellbeing – employment, and more specifically employment for people who use mental health services...

We recognise there is a growing Chinese community and believe that barriers to effective, culturally competent mental health services can be reduced. Anxiety NZ would like to provide better access to quality care for Mandarin / Cantonese speaking people and their families in Auckland.
 
Anxiety NZ is seeking a registered psychologist to join our team 3 days per week at our clinic in St Lukes, Auckland. The role is part-time and permanent with the ideal candidate speaking Mandarin and/ or Cantonese.  With 34 years of history, supported by a new CEO, a skilled multi-disciplinary team, friendly staff and volunteers – we are truly a great place to work!

Asian Health Week celebrating a decade of achievements!

Waitemata DHB’s Asian Health Services will be hosting an Asian Health Week from
17 - 21 August 2015, to celebrate a decade of achievements in providing quality services to Asian patients and families.

The week will be hosted in a Seminar format presenting a range of Asian health services, courses and resources as well as current research and evaluation studies and topics. Presenters of the seminar will include leading clinicians, researchers and academics in the field of Asian health and Asian health service development.

Global Health and Wellbeing Survey!


Be a part of a global survey to improve health and wellbeing! Open to people who are 16 years or older currently living in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom and United States. The results of the survey will be used to help improve the global understanding of wellbeing and will be used to help inform education programs within health and mental health sectors in the participating countries.
