VisitWiltshire's First Instameet
VisitWiltshire held its first ever Instameet at Bowood House & Gardens last month in a joint initiative with Igerswiltshire network. It was attended by 25 very keen photographers who have been posting their amazing photos on Instagram using #igersbowood.
PR Update
We recently hosted two USA press trips - Kim from AAA Magazine and Don from National Geographic Traveller for pan-Wiltshire itineraries. Our Time for Wiltshire international press visit held earlier this year and supported by Salisbury BID and Salisbury City Council, achieved over £500,000 Advertising Value Equivalent (AVE) and reached over 68 million people. The Government's 5 Point Plan
VisitWiltshire has welcomed the Government’s commitment to grow tourism in the South West at a recent tourism meeting with the Prime Minister. The Government has announced a new 5 point plan to boost tourism across the UK, spreading the benefits of one of the country’s fastest growing sectors beyond London. The Prime Minister’s new tourism plan will include setting up a new inter-ministerial group to coordinate activity across Government and will focus on 5 key areas - see here for details. South West Tourism Growth Fund
A £5m South West Tourism Growth Fund for tourism investment was announced earlier this year. The total programme expenditure will be £7.2m, consisting of core £5m funding from Central Government and £2.2m estimated match funding from partners. The targets primary markets are North America, Netherlands and Flemish Belgium, German speaking markets. Secondary markets are Australia/New Zealand, Scandinavia and the Republic of Ireland.
Annual Survey of Visitor Attractions

The new look fully responsive VisitWiltshire website is now available. The website has new functionality and follows our new Timeless brand positioning throughout. It takes a while for the website updates to filter through all browsers so If you still see the old version please check again tomorrow. Please also take some time to check your own entry, the images will be larger so if you would like to change any please contact Emma.
