With August in Tennessee, comes new beginnings - new school years, new students, new classes to teach, new colleagues, and new excitement about the year to come. Welcome back from what I hope was a relaxing and personally satisfying summer break for all of you. Now that school is back in session, so is DECA! Also in a new place, is our beloved, Sarah Williams, former CTE Specialist for DECA. With all that's new, let's get Tennessee DECA off to a great start toward another fantastic year of leadership and development of our members. Let's Go on a Safari to Success at DECA / FBLA Leadership Camp
Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! No, they won't be at at DECA/FBLA Leadership Camp this year, but what you will find at this year's edition of camp at Camp Clements is a fun-filled weekend safari of leading and learning for success at DECA/FBLA Leadership Camp! The state officer teams for Tennessee DECA and FBLA have planned a safari for your local chapter officers and members like none other. So pack your camping gear and join Tennessee DECA and FBLA as head out on our safari to hunt for success!

Fall Leadership Conferences are Back!
"Aspire to Inspire" at the 2015 TN CTSO Fall Leadership Conferences! The seven Tennessee Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) will be coming together for three one-day regional leadership conferences this fall. The cost will be $20 per attendee and will include training, t-shirt, and lunch. Conference registration will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. Your chapter’s registration will not be complete until we receive your online registration and check. You will receive an email invoice for your registration after submitting your registration online.
Each Tennessee CTSO requires each conference attendee, including adults, to have a completed CTSO Release Form. Advisors will be required to submit a form verifying they are in possession of the release forms for all conference attendees and that each form is completed accurately and honestly. This form will be included in the next newsletter. Conference attendees will not be allowed into any Tennessee CTSO event without a form from each school/chapter. You will receive an email invoice for your registration after submitting your registration online.
Please mail the registration invoice and the check together to Tennessee FBLA. All payments must be sent to Tennessee FBLA with FLC-2000 in the memo line of the check. The mailing address is:

Advisor Opportunity: PwC-KWHS Seminar for High School Educators on Business an Financial Responsibility
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC US) and Knowledge@Wharton High School (KWHS) are teaming up to co-host the seventh Business and Financial Responsibility Training Seminar for High School Educators, a three-day intensive learning experience designed to help you deepen your ability to teach financial literacy and business. The seminar (all expenses paid for those who are accepted) will take place at The University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, Gleacher Center, on Oct. 9-11 2015, and is open to 110 public and private high school teachers, principals, administrators and superintendents.
