“40 in 40, and Beyond” is the next featured artist exhibit at Blackbird Studio and Gallery, in North Berwick, Maine. Member Daryl-Ann Dartt Hurst, who has been showing painting, photography, and mixed media for almost 40 years, takes this opportunity to mount a small retrospective featuring paintings from 1976-2015.
Daryl-Ann's openness to experimentation is reflected in the maturity of her latest work. Starting in late 2013, she produced the ReDeFine series, which has been shown in multiple venues and garnered her The City of Rochester Commission of the Arts Award for Achievement in the Visual Arts in 2014. http://www.fosters.com/article/20150212/GJENTERTAINMENT_01/150219757
She was also nominated for the Seacoast Spotlight Award for Outstanding Non-Traditional Painter this year for a later part of that series.
