Bike the Watershed Ride

This Saturday Aug. 15 at 10:30 am

Meet at the Civic Center Jury Parking lot (near the dog park) by 10:30 for a fun bike ride of the Gallinas Creek Watershed. Kids welcome. We will return to the Civic Center area for a picnic around 1 pm. Ride free but a $5 donation for the food is requested. You can also skip the ride and just join us for the food! Route details here.

Our September 2 meeting has Guest Speaker Dara Rossoff Powell, a Waste Prevention Program Associate with Clean Water Action's ReThink Disposable program. She will discuss the environmental impacts of single-use disposables and the work that has been accomplished through the ReThink Disposable program to combat these problems.  She will speak in detail about work conducted in the food service industry and the exciting cost savings and waste reductions that have been achieved. She will also share source reduction techniques, offering real world practical solutions to a problem that impacts us all. Think you know it all? Come find out! Dara is a terrific speaker and resource.
Plants and wildlife throughout California are showing severe Drought stress. Help them by placing a shallow dish of water outside.
