Most of us have experience the use of harmful and helpful words. As children we have been taught to respond to harsh words by using the standard retort “sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” However, in our hearts we know that this is untrue...{Click HERE to read more of Words: Harmful or Helpful?}

Let's get back to class!  On Wednesday, September 2nd at 7pm (and on Tuesday, September 8th at 10:15am) we'll resume our chronological study ALIVE!  One of the main goals of this study is to grow together in our understanding of Bible themes as the story of Christ unfolds throughout all of scripture.  Eventually, we'll walk our fingers through every.single.book!  This quarter, we're launching our study in Genesis 12.  All ladies are invited to join us!
Tie up your walkin' shoes and JOIN TEAM REBECCA LYNN for the 2015 Walk for Children With Apraxia of Speech!

From Heather: Many families and children suffer with Apraxia of Speech.  It's wear and tear on everyone due to the intensive treatment that it takes to recover from Apraxia of Speech.  This walk is a great way to get to know other families and children that are looking for their voice, make some connections and identify resources within our community.

We would also love to sponser NRCOC and the preschool!  Please go to the CASANA website for more information on how to get involved in this great walk for a cause!  If you are not available to walk this year, please consider making a donation to help us reach our goal.  This money that is raised goes towards families that may not be able to afford speech therapy and goes towards providing I-pads to kids with Apraxia of Speech as a tool to help talk.

Please go to caosa.convio.net/site/TR?fr_id=1520&pg=entry for Rebecca Lynn's team page.

The walk takes place on August 29th, 2015 at 9:00 AM.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration in this matter. Please pass this along to other families that may be interested!
Sincerely,
Heather Waite

Our sister Kumba writes, "
As a child I grew up in a country called Sierra Leone in the town of Kono, where schools were either too expensive or government schools that were underserved. I used to travel to my paternal home in the village of Kono, where poverty is the order of life. The villagers walk a long distance to fetch water for cooking, drinking, and washing clothes, and they bathe in the rivers..."{click HERE to read more of Coming to America}
