Nashville Valley’s Eagle Scout Project Fulfills Tasks in VMAP Areas 6, 8, & 10!
  1. VMAP Area #6: The Valley maintains a Library and has a Library Committee that expands its holdings each year.
  2. VMAP Area #8: The Valley participates in at least one public service project per year.
  3. VMAP Area #10: Valley Organizations/Library Committee/Volunteers
The Valley of Nashville is asking for volunteers to assist with “The Coner Jones Eagle Scout Project” that is focused on Nashville’s Scottish Rite Library. The library will be electronically cataloged and shared with the George Washington Masonic Memorial Library and eventually other colleges and universities. The catalog information will be shared through their website. The general public will also be able to view Nashville’s holdings and have limited access to the library. Other volunteers will help catalog, including Boy Scouts and DeMolays. Family members of Nashville Scottish Rite Masons are welcome to participate. The project has gone live with Ill. Lynn Morelock, 33°, entering the first 11 books into the database. Brother Lynn helped in validating the process and launching the project. Work will be ongoing until the library is completely catalogued.

According to Conor, “Volunteers are requested to bring laptops or tablets. Computer skills aren’t necessary.” Conor is finishing his term as Master Councilor of C. E. Hendricks Sr. Chapter of the DeMolay, and he was elected to serve as Deputy State Master Councilor for DeMolay of Tennessee. He is a member of Boy Scout Troop No. 74 and a member of the Order of the Arrow.

See more of “The Coner Jones Eagle Scout Project” and the Nashville Valley Library in the November-December 2015 Scottish Rite Journal.
