Montessori Moment

Welcome to Montessori!
Montessori philosophy is as vast and deep as the ocean. Start by going to the beach. Feel the wind on your cheeks and listen to the waves crash. It’s okay that you don’t get it all at once. Then pick something to study. Starfish. Dolphins. Jellyfish. It doesn’t matter what you begin with because the animals inside the ocean are interdependent. As you do your research, you will begin to understand the power of the entire system. CLICK here for Montessori 101.

Chess Club

The MSBG Chess tradition continues this Fall with offerings for students from beginner to advanced.  Newcomers are welcome to join this program emphasizing critical thinking, problem-solving, and sportsmanship; see the attached newsletter for more information.”

Welcome

We have new faculty to announce!

Sarah Leis will work in elementary after care!  Sarah has been with us for a couple of years as a substitute and will make a great addition to our extended care staff. Sarah holds her Bachelor of Fine Arts and has worked as an art teacher in a private school, an assistant in an early childhood classroom and has held long and short term substitute teaching positions.

Jakki Kleinhans will be our new Intervention Specialist!  Jakki holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Natural and Social Sciences and is pursuing her Intervention Specialist license and Masters degree in special education.  Jakki is a school parent and her daughter Juno is in the West classroom.

Jennifer Blakeman will be our new elementary music and band instructor!  Jennifer has her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Heidelberg University with an instrumental emphasis.  She currently runs her own traveling music studio and formerly taught elementary music at the K-5th level for a local school district.  Additionally, she is licensed by the state of Ohio and holds Orff level 1 and 2 certifications.  She has been a Montessori parent and classroom substitute for the last four years and her daughter Emily will be a second year student at MSBG this year.

We're so glad to have such great faculty!
