Tibetans ordered to perform in expensive costumes to show “economic prosperity”

Over 30 Tibetans have been injured after being beaten by China's police and photographs show several hospitalised. They had been ordered to perform a cultural show to demonstrate their prosperity under China's occupation. 

Elsewhere in Tibet, local authorities have threatened Tibetans with banning the harvesting of caterpillar fungus - a vital source of income - unless they perform a cultural show.
