Educators,

Registration for our 2015-2016 Field Trip program is now open! Please read on for crucial information regarding our registration and selection process. The first Field Trip will be Thursday, October 1st, 2015 at 826CHI (1276 N Milwaukee Ave).

826CHI's Field Trip program:
826CHI provides writing-based Field Trips to CPS classrooms from 10am-12:15pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays throughout the school year. Though our Field Trips—offered to students in grades 1-12—focus on a variety of writing skills and genres, they are all designed to be collaborative, playful, empowering, imaginative, and to encourage students to share their experiences and ideas in their own, unique voices.

When and how can I register my class?
Our Field Trip application form is now live online and will be open through Monday, September 7th.

When will I know if my class has been selected?
We will review applications beginning Tuesday, September 8th and by Tuesday, September 15th will send either a confirmation for your class trip or a notice that you have been added to our waitlist.

How do you select schools?
Our Field Trip program receives nearly 200 applications each year, and we have 84 spots available. This program is no longer "first come, first served." Priority enrollment for the program is reserved for public schools within the city of Chicago. We take all of the following criteria into consideration: We ask that teachers who register their classes for Field Trips self-identify as low-income, low arts partnerships, and/or as classes with students who are ELL's.

Thank you for considering 826CHI as a partner in your work to provide Chicago students with the best possible education.
If you have any questions about the Field Trip program, please email Abi@826chi.org.

Best,
Abi Humber
Communications & Program Manager
