Hello, artists of the word,

Those of you who who have been in touch with me lately are aware that this is a very, very big month for yours truly.  On August 29th, I'm getting married to the hunk-a-hunk-a-burnin'-love I've spent the past year calling my fiance. As wonderful as our union has been, you'll soon see this new chapter of my life show up in my poetry as well as a new ring showing up on my finger.  Meanwhile, I'm up to my ears in flower arrangements and seating arrangements.  It feels so domestic!

Once that's over and done (and we honeymoon in Alaska!!), the Poetry Salon's fall six-week workshop cycle will shortly begin.  Dates and times are below, so reserve your seat while I still have room in my brain.
I feel like we have an artistic peak coming forward.  Don't miss out on the fun and growth.

Class Description: The Poetry Salon is a fun, nurturing environment where advanced writers come to share their work and develop their craft. Here students deepen their writing practice by learning how to not only write- but rewrite, how to listen to their work and the work of others with a trained ear, how to provide and receive supportive critique and practice the art of revision. Whether you are writing for publication or for personal fulfillment, you will find a supportive environment, and a group of fellow writers and editors to help you develop a greater sense of confidence and wonder as you master this most mysterious art form here at The Poetry Salon.

What the Poets are Saying . . .

“Tresha Haefner’s Poetry Salon is the answer to this poet’s prayers. Tresha’s perceptive ear and generous heart have shown me new ways to create and express myself as a poet, not to mention the invaluable help she’s given me in editing my work for publication.”

-Alexis Rhone Fancher, (Editor of Cultural Weekly)

"Tresha's workshops have given me new and useful ways to approach my writing. Her insights help me to clarify my ideas and sharpen my work in surprising ways."

-Celine West

"Working with Tresha has been fabulous.  I love the freedom of bringing my unfinished work, that work I believe is not very good, that I can't fix and turning it into a polished gem.  Since working with Tresha in her Poetry Salon, I've had several pieces published and I'm now refining more for submission.  Tresha has a gift of seeing the hidden genius of a writer and his or her work.  Thanks Tresha!!!"

-Carolyn Ziel

“Enjoyed the poetry pod!. Worthy discussions on editing, poetic turns, and poem structures – challenging exercises and weekly discussions of individual poems. Tresha’s insights and notes are invaluable!"

-Marcus Ellman

As always, Salon classes are by application only. If it's your first time, send 2-3 of your best poems, plus a brief statement about your writing process and what you hope to gain from this class to tresha@thepoetrysalon.com.
