Here's what's happening this month at Gloucester Rd WI.

Lawn Bowls and Pimm's

This month it's Lawn Bowls taught by our lovely venue experts and they'll be Pimm's to get us in the mood

As this is an outdoor activity and as the nights are already drawing in, we will start at the earlier time of 7pm so there is enough time on the bowling green before the light fades. (This is a one-off so don't panic - it won't be happening regularly.)

We'll still be doing the usual WI business after the second lot of bowling, but never fear, we'll keep you occupied if you're not bowling with plenty of social time and some Pimm's provided for you all!* We'll also get to show off the glorious new Glos Rd WI bunting!

It is advisable to come at 7pm (or just before) so that you ensure a place. If everyone turns up at 7.45- 8pm then I'm afraid you run the risk of not getting a place on the green.

Our rainy day contingency is a skittles match (limited space!) with some social time and pub-type quiz!

* non-alcoholic alternative provided!

An update on our projects and celebrations for the centenary.

Bring your Bras!

It's ok we won't be burning them!

Please bring along any unwanted bras to the next meeting as the Avon Federation are collecting them to raise funds for the Great Western Air Ambulance.

Last Month's Meeting

This evening we heard from Lucienne Boyce about the Bristol Suffragettes

She gave an inspiring talk, highlighting how hard the suffragettes fought in their struggle to win the vote for women in this country, and explaining why their tactics became increasingly militant.

We also began putting together our wall of Inspirational women.
