Walking at our own pace

 Dear friends,
“Is he walking?”
That’s the number one question I am asked about my son, Bennett. Since he’s 16 months old, my reaction is a little sheepish. “No, not yet,” I respond. “Oh, don’t worry,” they try to reassure me. “Once he’s walking, he’ll start to run and then you’re in trouble.” To be honest, I'm just looking forward to Bennett no longer pushing furniture all over our house. If you ever wonder why the tables and chairs in CMEE’s lobby appear to have been moved haphazardly, it is likely Bennett (or another novice walker) recently visited and has done some “redecorating.”

Southampton Shopping Night

On Wednesday, August 12th between 6pm and 8pm, please join us for a special evening of shopping on Southampton’s Main Street. Supporters of the Museum will receive 20% off purchases of $150* or more at both J. Crew and Egg by Susan Lazar while enjoying light refreshments and personal styling. Shoppers will also have a chance to win a $250 gift certificate to Bandier! A portion of the night’s proceeds will benefit CMEE.

CMEE's Summer Soiree

On Saturday, August 15th please join us at the Museum for a Summer Soiree honoring Adeline Neubert's legacy of service and commitment to CMEE!
Support for the Summer Soiree underwrites vital programs for the year-round community including bilingual afterschool workshops, family literacy classes, and educational outreach to low-income families. Tickets start at $100 per person and $150 per couple. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available.

Please join us for the first ever Chessfest! Brought to you by The Children’s Museum of the East End and Chess NYC, the day promises to be filled with crafts, activities, and games for players of all interests and skill levels. In addition to the opportunity to play in a tournament, kids will also have the chance to try their luck against an actual grandmaster!
Ages: Kids of all ages!
