TORRENS ROAD TO RIVER TORRENS PROJECT – T2T ALLIANCE
One of the key parts of my role as Industry Participation Advocate is to increase the number and diversity of competitive local business winning work as a result of Government contracts.   I can honestly say there has been a genuine commitment from the Major Projects Department of the Department of Planning Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) and the T2T Alliance in delivering on these objectives as part their obligations under the State’s Industry Participation Policy. Please feel free to forward this update to any of your contacts.

Business Opportunities
The T2T Alliance is committed to the South Australian Industry Participation Policy and will procure the works in a manner that will generate economic activity, to build capability and grow the State’s economy.  The State Government wants to ensure all opportunities are being actively pursued for engaging and growing local industry.  If you are a business operator there are two important steps:

1. To express interest in business opportunities that may arise during this project please register your local company online and list the specific products and services you can provide. The registration process is through the Industry Capability Network (ICN) and can be accessed via http://gateway.icn.org.au/. Please also email the T2T Alliance with business enquiries on procurement@t2talliance.com.au

2. The T2T Alliance and the Office of the Industry Advocate have developed a series of workshops to review the requirements for submitting an ‘Expression of Interest’ in any of the T2T project work packages - a requirement of most large upcoming infrastructure projects.  If you are interested in attending a workshop, you must first assess your ‘Tier level’ and select 'Large Projects (>$500m)'. This involves signing in to your ICN Gateway profile (if you do not have one, it will be done within this process).   Then register your interest in attending a workshop and quote your tier level For workshop enquiries, please email the Office of the Industry Advocate

Employment
The South Australian Workforce Participation in Government Construction Procurement Policy aims to increase employment and skill development opportunities for Aboriginal people, trainees and apprentices, local people with barriers to employment and displaced automotive sector employees to work on government civil construction works. The T2T Alliance is committed to achieving 20% of the total onsite labour hours being carried out by the target group.

The T2T Alliance are urging people seeking work on the project to  refer to the Industry Capability Network http://gateway.icn.org.au/ and check with successful bidders of work packages for employment opportunities on the project.  For any general enquiries please ring the T2T procurement number on 1300 794 899.
