Dear PRSA Colorado Chapter Member:

As we begin the process of determining the Chapter’s leadership team for next year, I invite you to take advantage of one of the best professional development opportunities PRSA Colorado has to offer by nominating yourself or another Chapter member for the 2016 PRSA Colorado Chapter board of directors. Below are some of the many benefits that past board members have shared about their experience:

  • Credibility as a public relations professional
  • Exposure to a broader public relations community outside one’s area of practice
  • Expansion of professional connections
  • Executive leadership experience with one of the largest and most respected PRSA Chapters in the country
  • Opportunity to practice leadership skills that can be applied immediately to your work and enhance your career
  • Chance to shape the direction of PRSA Colorado activities and policies
  • Opportunity to mentor other professionals
  • Education from peers and industry experts about the continuous evolution of public relations
  • Opportunity to be part of this evolution and to influence the success of the public relations practice

The 2016 Board positions that are open for nominations are:
  • President-Elect (one open position – serve a three-year term through 2018)
  • Secretary (one open position – serve a two-year term through 2017)
  • Director (two open positions – serve a two-year term through 2017)
  • Assembly Delegate (two open positions – serve a three-year term through 2018)
Note: Assembly Delegate nominees must either have previous board experience – within a Chapter, District or Section – or be accredited in public relations (APR).

All terms officially begin January 1, 2016, however, each newly elected board member will be required to participate in a full-day planning session in December, date and time TBD. For a description of the open positions, please click here.

To nominate yourself or another Chapter member, please fill out the nomination form, with five signatures from existing Chapter members and either email or mail the completed form to the PRSA Colorado office. The deadline for turning in your nomination is 5:00 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11, 2015. PRSA Colorado members will vote at the Chapter’s annual meeting, which is slated to take place at the lunch segment of this year’s Chapter Retreat scheduled for Nov. 4.

If you have any questions, please call or email me at (303) 361-2819 or julie_scott@bonfils.org.

Best regards,
