Don't Miss Pirate Treasure Days and School Orientation
It's that time of year again- time to buy schools supplies, new backpacks, and register for school. Below you can find dates and links to orientation and registration dates at SLUSD schools. The first day of school for all SLUSD sites is Wednesday, August 19.
Pirate Treasure Days at San Leandro High School begins on the main campus outside the student cafeteria. During your time at the high school, you will provide proof of residency, update your emergency card, take your school photo, pay outstanding bills, purchase a school planner ($5), pick up a school handbook and your class schedule. If you cannot make it on your assigned day, feel free to go on any other Pirate Treasure Day. This event will take approximately 90 minutes. You can arrive any time between 3 and 6 pm. The lines tend to be longer at 3pm and go faster at 5pm. Plan accordingly!

Orientation for last names A-L is from 12-1.
Orientation for last names M-Z is from 2-3.
John Muir Middle School Registration Day for 6th grade students will take place Friday, August 11 and for 7th and 8th graders on Tuesday August 14. Both groups will register from 9 to 2:30 based on their last name. Please visit the school website for times.
Bancroft Middle School Orientation for 6th grade and NEW students will take place on Friday, August 14 from 9am until 12:30 pm at the interior patio. You will have the chance to tour the school, practice opening your locker and pick up your schedule. The orientation sessions are broken down by last name. Bancroft Schedule Distribution for 7th and 8th graders will take place on Tuesday, August 18, from 9 to 11am.
Elementary Schools will post their class lists on Tuesday, August 18 at 6pm.
SLED Seeks High School Student Interns for Fall Semester 2015
The San Leandro Education Foundation has two positions open for SLHS Student Interns for the Fall 2015 semester in the areas of Graphic Design and Outreach/Volunteerism. The internships are paid a stipend and can also qualify for educational units toward graduation requirements. Students are expected to work between 5 to 7 hours per week, excluding school holidays. A strong work ethic, good communication skills and the ability to meet project deadlines are essential. The deadline for applying is August 17. Drake's Brewing "First Friday" Fundraiser is a Huge Success
On Friday evening, August 7, over 1,000 supporters came down to Drake's Bewing to raise a glass for education. A big Thank You to all volunteers, supporters, and Drake's fans who heped to make this event one of the largest in Drake's First Friday history, raising over $4500!
Don't miss September's First Friday Fundraiser benefiting the San Leandro Scholarship Foundation. The event will be held on Friday, September 4, from 4pm until 8 pm at 1933 Davis Street, Building 177 San Leandro, CA 94577.
Count Down To The Third Annual SLED GALA
Please join us for the third annual SLED GALA on Friday, September 11. The evening will be filled with fine food and drinks, music and dancing, and a souvenir photo booth. Each year the GALA raises thousands of dollars for the students in the San Leandro School District. Please help us to continue our efforts to support enriching educational experiences for our kids. Eat Out For Education- Every Wednesday
Join us August 12, at one of the six participating restaurants to benefit Madison Elementary School PTO. Each week, 20% of your meal purchase (dine-in or take out) will be donated back to one of the schools in the San Leandro Unified School District. You can view the menus by visiting sledfund.org.
Eat Out for Education is a fundraising campaign to increase resources for our schools while bringing together the community and stimulating the San Leandro economy! SLED's Eat Out for Education campaign encourages individuals and families to designate Wednesday as a night to dine together at a San Leandro restaurant in order to benefit public schools within the San Leandro Unified School District.
