A new service.

Currently this service is being delivered to local businesses and organisations and the aim is to deliver news and events notifications so you can take advantage of ones that suit you.

G'day,
We hope you don't fall off your seat getting an email newsletter from the Eudunda Community, Business and Tourism, more commonly known as ECBAT.

How do you find out what is happening in the community, business and local governance issues, problems, challenges and opportunities?

Are you aware of the Eudunda Brand? Developed by ECBAT many years ago to help people identify the products and services of the Eudunda region. It can be used by local businesses and organisations. Just enquire with ECBAT.

Let me introduce myself, Peter Herriman, a local business operator and a volunteer for ECBAT. Over the years since ECBAT has been running I have often been on the committee and always been a proud supporter of what ECBAT do and need to do for all the region. Currently I am not holding a position on the committee, having taken out time to do support work for the committee. That included things like further developing the promotion of the region through websites, the community calendar and through social media and now this newsletter.

Throughout the years communication has still been an issue, getting the news out to everyone is still a challenge, even today with all the different avenues available to us.

The question again is:-
How do you find out what is happening in the community?
I mean about community, business and local governance issues, problems, challenges and opportunities?

Despite the many and varied ways people are getting news these days the email newsletter is still the most reliable and deliverable. So here we are hoping that you will be able to take advantage of this one.

Currently the plan is to send out info only when there is some to send, so it might not be regular, but there may be times when you get a few items packed together or just a single item if it is urgent.

CONTACTING THE NEWSLETTER.
If you find it annoying, please 'unsubscribe' (link at the bottom of the email).
If you have news you would like to share - please contact the editor - Peter Herriman PO Box 85, Eudunda, or 088 1200 540 or 0429 811 958.

Why ECBAT? In very simple terms ECBAT is the local region of Eudunda's direct representation to the Local Government system. ECBAT represent the Eudunda Ward within the Regional Council of Goyder.

ECBAT also cover many local sub committees so they can operate with insurance cover, and help in various ways.

You can see one of the sub committees ECBAT support in the "Eudunda Garden's Committee" - a few of the volunteers were willing to pose for a photo recently in their award winning gardens. They insisted the photo should also show the beautiful ground cover seen flowering in front of them.
L-R: Bobbie Post, Shirley Reimann, Pam
Dutschke, Greg Post, Betty & Rodney Pfitzner.

ECBAT is very proud of the work the volunteers do, in developing and maintaining the gardens which are a great asset to the town. Not only a the place local's gather for relaxation or events, but also as a magnet for tourists coming to the town.

When talking to visitors don't forget to recommend they visit the Eudunda Gardens.

OTHER RESOURCES

Did you know that the region has several website resources for you to use?

eudunda.net

Above is the regions web portal, trying to create links to all things in the region.

Are you aware of the newly developed "Community Calendar"
Want to know what is on so you can recommend events to your visitors or for yourselves?

calendar.eudunda.net

If you know of an event that is not on the calendar - please let us know. Being listed on the calendar will allow event planners to seek cooperation with others, plan to not collide with competing events. We hope people visiting the area also look ahead to see what is happening in the area.

So far we know that people (from Adelaide) have chosen to change the weekend to visit here by the fact that the 'Local Football' was on a particular weekend and they wanted to watch it - they found this info on the calendar!!!

Although the websites were not originally designed for advertising on them, We hope to offer reasonable priced advertising to businesses so that we can fund the running of the websites. There will be more on this lately.

Facebook EudundaNews

We also have a news feed on Facebook for Eudunda News - this one is a bit more informal, more like the way facebook people expect.

Twitter Eudunda

This feed is collecting information from several sources (has quite a bit of different content that the others, but I expect over time this will get closer sync to the above.

"The Newspapers"

Don't neglect our local newspapers. The main one read in the area is the Leader, but you can sometimes find stories about the area in the "Herald" and the Clare based newspaper - "The Argus"
Depending on your advertising needs they can still be a good resource for advertising.

Editorial comment: Local Correspondent for the Leader -  Chelsea Laucke is doing a great job of keeping Eudunda/Robertstown and surrounds in the spotlight. To get news into the Barossa Valley is a very important and valuable thing for our region. Well done Chelsea, you are doing a great job and certainly helping ECBAT well with good reports on their issues and successes..
Please be aware that advertising in the newspapers reflects on how much content we see in the newspapers (they need to survive too).
