Five New Athletes Added to NE Distance Roster

Middle School Program Growing
to Add 7 Schools in Providence

A 3:58 miler, a US Olympic Trials Marathon qualifier, a Rhode Island phenom, one of the fastest guys ever from Maine and one of the best road runners in the country.  NE Distance adds its 2015-2016 class of athlete-in-residence fellows with it's biggest and best roster ever.  Please help us welcome Steve Mangan, Jake Sienko, Nick Ross, Ryan Widzgowski and Jim Spisak.

They will be joining David Goodman, Katrina Spratford and Henry Sterling as your NE Distance athletes this fall.

Middle School Program Expanding

As seen in recent Providence Journal articles, the Play Gap is a real issue.  The opportunities a young person has to participate in physical activity too often depends more on their zip code than their capabilities.  That's not the America we believe in and NE Distance has been partnering with public schools in urban areas to address this important issue.

We are proud to announce that NE Distance will be expanding on its success last year running of cross country and track programs in urban schools.  This fall the NE Distance athletes-in-residence will be coaching cross country for seven public middle schools in Providence.  Our five new NE Distance athletes will coach and facilitate races for the Providence program.

Performance Physical Therapy Renews Sponsorship of Woonsocket Middle School Cross Country

Our friends at Performance Physical Therapy of Rhode Island have once again agreed to be the main sponsor of our Middle School Cross Country programming in Woonsocket. NE Distance athletes-in-residence David Goodman, Katrina Spratford and Henry Sterling will again be coaching the team they took to the State Championships last year.

Congratulations Lara Crofford

NE Distance athlete Lara Crofford graduated last year from our fellowship program and landed a full-time coaching position at the University of Cincinnati. Great job Lara.  We hope to see you back here for a recruiting trip to Woonsocket and Providence.
