ONTARIO CONTACT
Highlights from the Schedule
The 2015 Ontario Contact schedule is now available online! We all know that Ontario Contact is a great place to see artists perform and network with your colleagues but there is so much more in store for you. Here are some highlights from our schedule to prove that Ontario Contact is so much more!
Live Music Streaming
Join Faye Perkins on Friday, November 6 for a workshop on audience building and artists development through live music streaming. Learn how music presenters can work with artists and their representatives to use this technology to grow audiences and build artists’ careers.
International Touring
Industry veterans, Robert Baird and Ann Summers Dossena are returning with their very popular roundtable discussion for artists, agents and managers interested in touring internationally. Join their session Saturday, November 7, 2015
1:30pm.
Presenter Pitches!
The five-minute artist pitch is a very popular and successful aspect of Ontario Contact, but this year we are turning the table and giving presenters an opportunity to talk about their programming vision. As an exhibitor at Ontario Contact, this is an opportunity for you to learn more about the presenters and identify possible programming ideas that would support their vision. Join the Introduction to Presenters session on Thursday, November 5 at 10:15am.
Critical Response Workshop
Interested in presenting work that may be challenging for your audience and not certain how to have a conversation about it? Through guided conversation, this reflective practice is dedicated to fuelling innovative feedback and building community between artists, audiences, presenters and ideas. Join us on Thursday, November 5, for a full-length showcase of Green Thumb Theatre and then participate in a Critical Response session.
Pre-Conference Day
The Ontario Contact schedule also includes our pre-conference day on November 4th, featuring Facility Managers’ Meeting and the Extraordinary Project Discussion hosted at the Aeolian Hall, considered one of the Top 10 Halls in Canada by CBC Radio 3. You will also have a chance to tour another beautiful historic theatre, home to the London Community Players, the Palace Theatre. Originally built as a silent movie theatre in 1929, it was considered one of the finest in the world.
