A Free Gift
We would like to give you a free gift—it’s a gift that could help you in your journey of surrender to becoming more like Jesus. That’s my new phrase for discipleship—intentionally surrendering to look more like Jesus. And we do it as followers of Jesus being transformed by the Spirit of God in our inner being, our family, our community and even globally like Jesus intends.
God is doing this continual spiritual work inside of us and we become disciples in many ways. He uses the circumstances of life to shape us. God plants people in our life to change us. We also are transformed when we pause to reflect and fill our minds with truths that form us.
The free gift that we want to make available to you and your family is access to an online library of over 10,000 video resources that provides Bible studies, directed teaching, conferences, children’s programming and much more, directly from your computer.
Here are ways the leaders of our church have been using Right Now Media...

Taking it to the Streets with Backyard Blitz
This summer we literally “took it to the streets” and provided backyard Vacation Bible School in three local cities. Dozens of kids from neighborhoods and schools attended these three-day events. Some kids were challenged and encouraged to deepen their faith, other kids heard the gospel for the first time and accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and everyone experienced the joy, fun, and acceptance found in Christ.
The Westerfield’s opened up their apartment complex for a Backyard Blitz in Anaheim. There were many exciting stories from their experience; Peggy Westerfield told us about a girl who attended and “prayed to receive Christ yesterday and let me tell ya, she wanted to talk with me about it over and over and over yesterday!” In Yorba Linda the Ollivier family opened up their home to host a Backyard Blitz. Amy Ollivier shared, “This summer we had the privilege to have three kids accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior...these girls have been on our hearts for years and all come from broken homes. BYB allows us to share the love of Christ to kids that wouldn't have otherwise been allowed to come to church.”
The last location was in Brea hosted by the Smylie family. Katie Smylie shares about her family’s experience hosting Backyard Blitz...

Save the Date—A Day of Prayer
Scripture is filled with the call to prayer. Jesus prayed with the disciples, with crowds, alone in the garden…and He instructed His disciples that some situations/challenges/griefs are so serious that prayer should be accompanied by fasting. As we follow Jesus and connect with each other we want to be sure that prayer is not something we tack on the end of a conversation or check off a list—but it is part of how we live and breathe and worship.
For that reason, we invite you to join us Monday October 5 for an intentionally set aside day of prayer (and fasting, if possible) under the leadership of our Elders. We’ll be suggesting prayer topics, ways to fast, and giving more details as we get closer. But put it on your calendar now, and plan to join us to either break your fast or culminate your day of prayer with a time of worship and praise in the Worship Center at 7 pm that day.
