Hickory Nut Forest and Laughing Waters

It's Apple Picking Time in the Orchard

If you'd like to pick some organic apples to make pies, apple butter, apple sauce, cider, or just to enjoy, you are invited come to the orchard on Saturday, August 29 from noon to 4:00 PM. We'll have ladders, tarps, and pickers for you to use. The apples ripened really early this year, but there are still some on the trees for the taking. Everyone is welcome! Free!

Meet Heidi, our new manager

We are so blessed to have Heidi Ladlee on the Hickory Nut Forest and Laughing Waters team! Heidi is a new Gerton resident who has lots of experience in property management. She says, "I plan to spend the rest of my life here in the mountains. I have been called to the mountains my whole life...it's where my soul is most at peace. I couldn't ask for a more beautiful life to compliment my spirit. The people out here are my kind of people...kind, giving and full of life." Her enthusiasm, youth, and huge heart have added so much to every aspect of this venture and have helped us to rest easier than we have in years! Thank you, Heidi, for finding your way to this community!
