URGENT CALL TO ACTION!
No surveys for pipelines on protected public lands!

Kinder Morgan, a Texas gas pipeline company, wants access to our public lands for their surveyors. They hope to build a pipeline that would damage over 100 conservation parcels for their private profit. These include State Forests, State Parks, and Wildlife Management Areas that are home to precious wetlands, endangered species and wildlife. Surveyors would size up where to place their 100 ft. right-of-way, which will be a permanent scar through these important habitats.

Now, we've gotten word that Governor Baker's administration is pressuring the Dept. of Conservation and Recreation, as well as the Dept. of Fish and Game to open the gates to our public lands, giving Kinder Morgan's surveyors free range.

We protected these lands for a reason. Join us in calling on Governor Baker and his administration to stand strong, keep these lands protected, and deny access to Kinder Morgan.

This could happen any day!

Hingham rep faces criticism over Western Mass. pipeline bill
By Christian Schiavone, The Patriot Ledger
HINGHAM – A Hingham lawmaker has filed a bill that would allow a natural gas pipeline to cut through conservation land at the other end of the state, angering pipeline opponents on the South Shore and in Western Massachusetts.
State Rep. Garrett Bradley, D-Hingham, last month filed a bill that would allow Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co. – a subsidiary of Houston-based Kinder Morgan – to build a 13-mile pipeline expansion through protected land managed by the state Department of Conservation and Recreation in the town of Sandisfield in southern Berkshire County.
Bradley said he offered to file the bill on behalf of Kinder Morgan after local representatives refused. Bradley said the project would help increase the supply of natural gas and bring down high energy costs throughout Massachusetts.
“It affects my constituents and I’m not going to not have that discussion just because it doesn’t happen to go through my district,” he said. “To characterize this as just a local issue is just inaccurate. It affects all the residents of the commonwealth.”
