Stop Touching Me

Either as a child or a parent you have heard these words spoken in a shrill voice coming from your child as you are driving down the road and your children are belted into their seat belts behind you.

"Make her stop touching me!"

"He is STILL touching me"

This continues until you as a parent separate the children or possibly suggest that if they don't stop then you will need to stop the car and assist them in being separated.

Their actions are distracting you from being focused and doing your best as a driver.

How long would you put up with this as a parent?  Maybe five minutes or possibly less?

Then why do you allow today's smartphone and tablet technology do the same thing?

What do I mean?

Think about your phone for a moment.

How many "Notifications" pop up on your phone?
All of them are the App's way of trying to get you to pay attention to them and the idiocy of this is that you gave them the permission to distract you.

It is time to STOP the permission based notifications and gain your life back.

When I first realized this was happening, I had nearly twenty-five different programs where I had "allowed" them to send me notifications when I had installed the App.

Now, I have reduced that by twenty to the five I really need or want.

If you are experiencing this "attack of the machines" and want to stop them then take a few moments and follow these simple steps.

For Push Notifications, you’ll need to disable these in the Settings app as well. Tap open your Settings app, then tap Notifications. Your iPhone will list everything that has the ability to send you Push Notifications. Tap each app you want to manage the Notifications for, and then turn the Notification Center toggle to OFF. Then, set the Alert Style to None, the Badge App Icon and Sounds to OFF, and turn OFF the View in Lock Screen Option.

Voila!  Freedom is yours!!

I enjoy using technology and often am an early adapter, yet I am finding that reducing the constant interruptions has allowed me to enjoy the technology better and control my day in a positive way.

If you need support in accomplishing getting your life back let me know, I would be glad to support you.
