Hello

This week we're pleased to announce the cast for Outsiders! With the casting set, and rehearsals soon to start, this new play will begin its tour at CAST in Doncaster on 24th September.

Play In A Week began on Monday, with a group of 11 to 14 year olds all working together with support from practitioners to produce a play that will be performed at the National Railway Museum on Saturday.

We also have information about Interface 2015, an exciting and unique networking event for digital artists, designers and developers.

Outsiders - Cast Announced

Our next touring production is inspired by the classic novel L’Etranger and retold through the stories of two women, Marie and Sumaya.

The two actors that will be embodying
the forgotten figures of Camus' novel in this compelling re-imagining of the story are Sara Sadeghi and Lou Broadbent.

We're very much looking forward to beginning rehearsals with them. We'll also be welcoming
Fraser Corfield, the Artistic Director of the Australian Theatre for Young People, to York.

Fraser will be flying over to direct the play, working with Sara, Lou, and the Pilot team as part of our involvement in the Boomerang Project  and our partnership with ATYP.

PLAY IN A WEEK

Our annual collaborative week-long course for 11 to 14 year-olds began on Monday. They have been exploring the subject matter of journeys and immigration with York Theatre Royal's Youth Theatre Director Kate Plumb and playwright Danusia Iwaszko.

A week full of engaging exercises, devising, and development of  skills and techniques has resulted in a polished piece, ready to be performed at the National Railway Museum tomorrow.

A big well done from the Pilot team to all those taking part in Play in a Week, they've done a great job!

A Restless Place

Following on from the sellout productions of In Fog and Falling Snow, Clocking In, and Blood + Chocolate, we're offering audiences another unique opportunity to experience one of York's heritage sites in a completely new and unexpected way.

Enter through the locked doors of the York Castle Museum into corridors and cells housing lost voices and found stories, tales of home and the search for belonging.

A Restless Place, written by Juliana Mensah, blends Verbatim testimonies with folktale as you meet characters drawn from both myth and reality on their journeys into the unknown.
