Dear Friends, Colleagues and Partners,

Good news from India comes this time from Pune (excellent demo with several simultaneous channels broadcast in car) and Bengaluru. Following a decision taken at the highest level a first DRM roadshow was organised recently in Bengaluru ahead of the international India- South Africa T20 cricket match.

If you have not seen the Doordashan DRM ad and explainer, please check this newsletter.

This edition of the Noticeboard will also give you more details about IBC Amsterdam, the media and broadcast event of the year, to which over 60,000 professionals from around the world congregate. The DRM Consortium had more announcements and news for IBC 2019 than ever before, as befits the standard that with its great progress in India and China can now practically cover over 2 billion people.

New receivers, a new car adaptor, an  improved content-server and multiplexed DRM services, all featured in the two well-attended DRM events. If you missed the most successful DRM IBC events at the Gospell and Nautel booths, please read below all the details about these innovative DRM solutions and applications.

Just now the Consortium is gearing up for the second ABU-DRM workshop to be held in Kuala Lumpur on October 9-10. Details below.

If you want to reconnect to our activities an updated Flickr site will give you an idea of what we have been up to in these past 18 months.

Other industry articles full of ideas and new facts are also included (like the one about the biggest DRM broadcast transmitter site in the UK) and we hope you will write to us with your own news and contributions.

And please remember that you only have very little time to make your nominations for our fifth DRM Enterprise Award. Make sure you or your chosen people are on the list.

Finally, please do not forget to join us on Twitter, YouTube and Flickr.  And if you want to join the Consortium please contact projectoffice@drm.org.

DRM Publicised in India Ahead of Popular Cricket Matches

On September 22nd in Bengaluru, ahead of the cricket match with South Africa, All India Radio (AIR) hosted a public roadshow event designed to publicise DRM sets in cars that are receiving digital services from AIR.

This event followed the recent announcement made by Mr Shashi Vempati, the public radio and television Prasar Bharati’s CEO, who recently announced that live cricket commentary is to return to AIR and be broadcast on DRM for the first time.
