The Jolee-Jaffa Music Foundation's music release event is this Friday from 6 to 8 PM at a convenient central location in the Valley. We will be showcasing the foundation's theme song produced by Joanne. It will be a fun evening . Hors d'oevres and drink will be served. See details below.

The foundation is sponsoring music lessons and providing music instruments to students. We want to share with you the new music room at Sunshine Acres Children's Home where we have classes taught by teachers dedicated to fulfilling our mission. Young lives will be changed in this room!

Meet Our New Board Member - Neal Yukolis

Neal is a native Arizonan, businessman and graduate of Arizona State University. He has served on a myriad of boards and committees including 30 years as a member of Rotary

International serving as President of Mesa Sunrise Rotary from 2006-2007, and in 2007 he served on a humanitarian mission to Afghanistan. Neal has served on the Board of the Mesa Industrial Development Authority, the Mesa Educational Committee, and has served as Director of the East Valley Boys and Girls Club Music Committee.

New Music Research Study Released
The Proceedings of the National Association of Sciences just published the results of a new study showing that a music education literally changes the brains of adolescents.

"The music training group also exhibited earlier emergence of the adult cortical response, suggesting that in-school music accelerates neurodevelopment. These changes seem to benefit literacy skills: both groups improved in phonological awareness relative to the general population, but the music training group improved more compared with the active controls."

100% of Song Proceeds FBO Underprivileged Children

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mesa, Arizona â€“ July 22, 2015 - Announcing a reception, Friday, August 28, 2015, 6PM-8PM, to celebrate the release of Stand for You, a new single by musical artist, Joanne Jolee. 100% of proceeds from sales of the track will be donated to the Jolee-Jaffa Music Foundation, Inc., an IRC 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

The event is being hosted by Precision Installation, 8201 S. 48^th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85044, the premiere office furniture sales and office installation company. Wine and light hors d'oeuvres will be served. A short program will provide an opportunity to learn more about the work of the foundation and ways to become involved.

Joanne explains, â€œStand for You addresses the reality that sometimes tragic things happen to good people for no apparent reason. Charitable service is an act of compassion for those in their time of need, standing for those who are unable to stand on their own.â€ Jolee co-produced the song with Gold Record and Emmy award winning producer, Ken Mary, and is the official song for the Jolee-Jaffa Music Foundation, Inc. (JJMF).

JJMF was founded in 2014 by Joanne and her husband, former Mesa City Councilmember Bill Jaffa.

The charityâ€™s mission statement is: â€œA music education for children is critical to their emotional and academic development, and daily music making for adults has extraordinary mental and physical health benefits. Our mission is to advance public awareness of these benefits and provide opportunities for music education to all ages. We endeavor to work with other advocates who also understand the empowerment that comes with learning to play music.â€

Bill is proud to note, â€œIn March we had our inaugural and sold out fundraising event which enabled us launch our music programs at the Sunshine Acres Home for Children in Mesa where we are providing free lessons and instruments. We are grateful to have received donations of musical instruments from leading global retailers, Guitar Center and Sweetwater Sound.â€

Internationally, JJMF has adopted â€˜Elvieâ€™s Villageâ€™ in the Philippines and supplies the children with ukuleles manufactured from coconuts in the surrounding towns.

Earlier this year, Bill and Joanne met with the leadership of an education center in Haifa, Israel that brings Jewish, Muslim and Christian children together in part through music. "We have begun collaborating on using the power of music to transcend cultural barriers in a larger international way. We are seeking talented people to join our charitable team - to work alongside us in fulfilling our mission. Come join us at this upcoming event and become part of our family.â€ Joanne adds.

Scholarships are available to children meeting eligibility requirements and applications can be downloaded from the website: www.j-jmf.org. Music classes for adults are scheduled to begin in the fall.

Stand for You is the title track from Joanneâ€™s new classical crossover album which will be available beginning mid-August on Apple Music and iTunes and includes, Healer, Time to Let Go (score theme derived from La Serenade by Hayden), Baroque Medley(Bach/Scarlatti), Ave Maria (Bach/Gounod), and Ani Ohevet Otcha.
