Howdy <<First Name>>!

Well-- lots of exciting things happening.  First and foremost, I just got some music performance opportunities in Switzerland!  Will be flying there very soon-- to Lucerne, Zurich and Bern.  Will have lots of photos from the trip in the my September Newsletter.  I'll be collaborating with Swiss cellist Katalin Von Walterskirchen.

It's also a little scary because I haven't played my guitar music for quite some time-- because of the nerve issues in my hands.  But I've been slowly working my music back up... with the help of my ArmAid massager, NewGrip to help stop the irritating vibrations to my nerves, and plenty of Tiger Balm and patience. :)  I also changed the strings I use and my guitar setup to help as well-- more details on all that in my next newsletter.

I've been focusing more on writing for hammered dulcimer the last couple of years-- it's a lot easier on my hands.  Here's a new demo of one of my pieces called 'Continuation.'
It's a project with some ol' buddies of mine of college and features Chris Reyman on accordion and Chris Nolte on upright Bass.  It was recorded by our good friend Caleb Willitz-- and I'm sad to say was the last thing we ever recorded before a horrible electrical fire at his studio. (Click to read more about that & help Caleb.)

In other travel news, we're back from our trip to the International Film Festival in Atlanta, GA where Bicycle Notes (Animation short) was a featured selection.  We were also honored to be panelists on the Filmmakers Round Table-- and also got the opportunity to step away from the festival and check out downtown Atlanta and some of its neighborhoods:
Also, just found out that 'Devil's Work' (the most recent film I scored the music for) is now an official selection at the most important film festival in all of Mexico-- the Monterrey International Film Festival

It is also an official selection at the Woodstock Film Festival in New York, the New Orleans Film Festival and will also be playing in Colorado and hopefully Chicago as well.  Will keep you updated.  More festival showings coming soon.

Monterrey International Film Festival (Mexico), August 25-30
New Orleans Film Festival, October 15-22
Woodstock Film Festival (New York), September 30-October 4

Previously featured festivals:
LA Film Festival

In case you missed it from my July Newsletter:

Here's some of the new music I composed for the film above, 'Devil's Work', featured in the trailer.  It features cellist Sophie Webber who co-wrote/co-arranged the cello parts with me.

I look forward to hearing from you soon--  and please feel free to share this newsletter.

How are you?!?  Send me an email-- lets talk soon!

Cheers!

Tinnitus (& hyperacusis)

http://www.relax-your-ears.com/tinnitus/

Well... I was supposed to start the Otoharmonics sound therapy device... I tried it for a few nights but then got freaked out that it was making my tinnitus fluctuate more than usual.  Since I'm going to be traveling quite a bit coming up I've decided I'll take a break from it and then give it another try when I return.  I'll keep you updated.
