INDIA
We saw Jesus do all of the above through our ministry team in July! Three of our Wings Staff, along with my mother and one other team member, spent 16 days ministering at four children’s homes in different cities and villages located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Amongst each home are 8 pastors who not only are daily caring for orphaned and needy children, but operate Bible schools, pastor churches, and are reaching the lost in the slums and in their communities. We were so honored to work among such heroes of India!
Throughout the trip we spent time with and ministered to 500 orphans and saw many of them get filled with the Holy Spirit! We taught the children how they were champions in Jesus, and like David no matter what giants they face in life that God almighty is with them to help them defeat the enemy! We shared other lessons like these, praying that the truth of God’s word would turn on like a light in their hearts. After each lesson we had fun with the kids painting, playing games, even going to the beach and other fun activities! Their smiles and laughs still echo in our memories.
Two of the kids homes were in need of shoes for their children so we were able to go to the store with them and help them buy a new pair! At one home in particular, the children there were in great need of some new clothes. The ones they were wearing were old, dirty, and torn- not at all the kind of clothing God has in mind for His children! So we took them to a local clothing store where they all got to pick out a set of brand new clothing. We even were able to bless the pastor and his family and leaders with a new set. Everyone was so excited, they said it felt like Christmas for them. The look on their faces was priceless! After shopping we took the kids to a park where we played together on the playground and later shared ice cream together. This particular children’s home has a lot of other needs and the pastor has been doing his best to make ends meet for them all. Thanks to you and your previous gifts, we have been able to help them purchase their new school supplies and books! I’d like to ask you to please pray for Refuge of Christ children’s home and consider helping to be a sponsor for them. Their living facilities are in need of many repairs and the kids could sure use some new bedding and other supplies.
