August 10 and 17 -  find two differences!

Welcome back to the office! Autumn semester 2015 is starting soon with a wide variety of projects - it's definitely not quiet on the Nordplusmusic front!

Improvise to Improve

17 - 21 August 2015
Metropolia University of Applied Sciences

Third and final session of the improvisation project has opened the autumn season.
A week of sharing experiences and methods in order to promote improvisation and improve music pedagogy.
A recipe for a good Nordplus course? Mix together group sessions, concerts and jams, sprinkle with movement and dance, stir in some sauna, top off with a freshly made impro-opera and enjoy!

Girl Power in Jazz

25 - 30 August 2015
Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg

No power like Girl Power to kick off the new year!
Ancient history called - it wants back the concept that in jazz a woman's place is behind the mic. Yet, females remain a minority in jazz. Our project tackles that issue by featuring all-female bands only. Seminars, ensembles, concerts, circlesongs and sofa talks - the floor is yours, girls!

Audition Training

21 - 25 September 2015
Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre

Practice makes perfect! A great possibility for young opera singers to gain experience for auditions - from vocal lessons to masterclasses in vocal performance and breathing techniques to a demo audition with feedback from opera agents.

4 to 24 Saxophones

12 - 18 October 2015
Latvian Academy of Music

This is not a math test but a music course centering on one of the most versatile music instruments - saxophone. A great possibility for young saxophonists to meet several extraordinary musicians who form the multi-coloured pattern of the present saxophone performance tradition. Together they will work with different saxophone ensembles – from quartets to large ensembles of 24 musicians.

Connecting Opera and Sound Art (COSA)

12 - 18 October 2015
Academy of Music and Drama, Gothenburg

What happens when you connect opera and sound art? COSA! Mixing tradition and innovation, this course allows a new look at the opera tradition, a possibility to envision its further development and create a model for innovation.
Practical work, lectures, seminars and discussions, ending with a sound art opera performance. Exciting times ahead!
