A good way to find out more about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

The NDIS has been a big topic in the news over the last few weeks. Agreements between each state and territory government and the federal government were supposed to have been signed by now, but they haven’t been yet. We tell you about this below. We also talk about why people are unhappy with the federal government about making changes to the NDIA Board.

What's going on with the NDIS rollout?
All Australian states & territories were due to sign agreements with the Federal Government by the end of June 2015. Then July. Then August. It's September now … what does this mean?
Back in July we wrote an article called "Possible changes to the NDIA Board". Last Friday, the Federal Government placed an ad in the Australian Financial Review to find new members of the NDIA Board. People with disability and disability advocates are very worried, especially because the ad did not say that they were looking for people with disabilities to fill these roles.
Did you know your organisation can become an AFDO Associate Member?
Australian Federation of Disability Organisations (AFDO) is encouraging disability organisations to become Associate Members of AFDO. Members will have access to sector news, discounted training and more.
