Meet Ashley Jordan, the August Face of Manufacturing!

Read her story and see her video as she talks about getting fired as a teenager from the family business, her experience in trade school, and what she hopes to do with her future in manufacturing.

White Paper: Are You Worried About Next Year's Growth Numbers?

According to Andy Helm, GaMEP project manager, history shows us that successful companies are able to manage both the short-term margins and the longer-term innovation management. Do you truly understand the difference between steady, incremental growth and stepped growth? Read his white paper to find out the difference, learn how the most successful companies balance between the two, and discover what you can do to align your company in both areas to support your long-term strategic growth plan.

Podcast: Could this plant have helped GM avoid bankruptcy?

Caley Landau, GaMEP Marketing Coordinator posted a great podcast on the GaMEP LinkedIn group a couple of weeks back about the New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc. or NUMMI plant that was opened as a joint venture between Toyota and GM in 1984. Toyota taught GM all about Kaizen and the benefits of producing quality over quantity way back then-- so could GM have used this information to avoid the difficulties they faced in the late 1990's and early 2000's? If they had been more willing to listen and not afraid of change in their organization, could they have implemented the production system that they have in place today, 20 years earlier? Check out the podcast, "This American Life" and post your response on the LinkedIn group.
