August 2015
Dear friends,

Welcome to our August Newsletter!

The Society of St. Yves was founded in 1991 and is working under the patronage of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem to help "the poor and the oppressed" according to the social doctrine of the Catholic Church. St. Yves provides gratis legal assistance, counsel and advocacy to all members of the community, irrespective of race, color, gender or religion. Through national and international lobby and advocacy we are able to bring the light of the poor and marginalized to the attention of communities around the world in an effort to bring pressure for change.

Below is a general update of St. Yves work for the month of August and a brief summary of the OPT’s latest updates.
During this month a significant amount of our work fell onto the Cremisan Case since numerous actions and updates occurred. Despite the previous ruling, the Israeli Supreme Court gave the green light to begin building the separation wall in the Cremisan Valley beginning of July. The 17th of August, Israeli Forces resumed building the annexation wall, since then, any peaceful marches, masses or visits to Beir Ona were attacked by Israeli forces.

Sincerely,
The Society of St. Yves - Catholic Center for Human Rights
