STRANGE DAY #9

HORN DANCE - Abbots Bromley, England

At 8-o-clock in the morning, an odd group of men sporting antlers gather on the village common. Not questioning why they do it, they will spend the next 12 hours dancing their way between house and pub across the countryside - as their forefathers have done for 800 or more years - knowing that it is on their shoulders to ensure a bountiful hunt for the coming season.

We like this dedication to tradition and community in an era when the ways of old are disappearing. If the horn dancers came to our door we would offer them each a glass of beer with blessings for a good hunt.

Celebrating in the Tasting Room September 3rd - 8th, with tasty English grub and beer to wash it down with.

JOIN US in the evening on September 8th as Vancouver's Morris Men will be stopping by for a song and dance and beer or two. A FREE BEER to those sporting horns. 7:30-ish.
