AIJA International Arbitration
Newsletter No.41, September 2015
Dear <<First Name>>
As the summer draws to a close, it is time to reminisce on the past couple of months that have offered us no doubt one of the best arbitration-oriented events of the year. And also, let us not forget that although the days are getting a bit chillier elsewhere, Britain is sure to have an Indian summer so that all of you taking part in this year’s Annual Congress can enjoy London at its finest!
Naturally, the first honorable mention goes to this year’s Annual Arbitration Conference that took place in the beautiful summertime Paris. We have Marc, Damien, Cédric and Anne-Victoire to thank for the arrangements and a terrific scientific program that included a keynote speech by Yves Derains and which brought together some of the leading in-house counsel, practitioners and arbitration institutions around the world. And of course, the social program including a tour of Paris was a guaranteed success.
Right after Paris followed the Stuttgart seminar that cast the spotlight on dispute resolution in construction industry. Stuttgart proved to be a great fit for a seminar dealing with construction law as the city is rumored to never be completed with new major construction projects popping up every day. The expertly organized scientific part was complemented by a memorable social program that culminated to a closing dinner organized on top of the museum of modern art. The view left the participants speechless!
Next up is the Annual Congress that will include the working session â€State Court Participation in Arbitration – Help or Hindrance?â€. Also, the Commission Meeting will be held on Friday 4 September 2015. That is your venue to get your ideas and views heard. London is calling, don’t miss out!
And once London is behind us, we can start getting ourselves ready for the great arbitration events that will follow in 2016, including the Annual Arbitration Conference in New York for which preparations are about to begin.
Best regards,
Pascale, Tero and Hagit
