After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”
Revelation 7:9-10
One day, people from every tribe and tongue and nation will be standing before the Lord worshipping Him. At Faith Academy, we have people from many nations, tongues, and tribes together to worship as we learn - people from 22 countries to be exact. Working here is like a little taste of Heaven, highlighting the diversity and unity of the Body of Christ.

Biblical Integration
Other than getting to know my students, one of my favorite parts of teaching at Faith Academy is that I get to integrate my walk with God and Scripture into my daily teaching. We start each day with a devotional or song or prayer. Throughout the rest of the day, I have many opportunities to connect what we are learning to Scripture. When I came here, I thought this might be hard for me, having come from a public school setting. However, it has been quite natural. Right now in English we are studying a book that involves mythology, and we have had many good discussions about how the True God is different from all the gods of mythology. It encourages me to hear what the kids know about God and that they are able to separate truth from fiction. Please pray for continued opportunities to do this!

Working with Filipinos
While in the Philippines, I am actually working with the Philippine Sending Council of SEND (PSC), which mobilizes Filipinos to be a part of missions. Just over a week ago, I went to PSC for orientation. While there, they shared with me that though my primary focus is at Faith Academy, they would eventually like me to help out with some mobilization when it is in my area. They also said that they want me to end up at a level 3 with language (on a 0-4 language acquisition scale), but that they want me to wait a year to really start learning it so I can get settled in. I’m excited for their support and to be working with a group primarily consisting of Filipinos while I’m in the country!
